Class of 1956 60th Year Reunion Photos

Here is the place for your pictures prior to our 60th on October 1st, 2016.  So let's see what you look like!!!  Just email an attached image, maybe a little description.  Also . . . check out the Mugshots Since the 55th, and

50th Reunion Mugshots, The 55-Year Muggers Review, and The 75th Photos. Then there's Ancient Acalanes Pictures and Vintagage Acalanes Photos.

9/12/2016 - Here we have two couples who would like very much to attend the Reunion but can't make this one.  Dee and Joe have been living in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for the past 5 years and love it up in the mountains there.  John and Lorna have lived on the "Garden Island" of Kauai'i and have run the Kauai Banyan Inn B&B there for many years.  Wish you were coming on October 1st.  Maybe next year!

7/30/2016 - Here's Katy Jones and twin brother, Howard Jones. They are relaxing at a family reunion in Mountain View,  Arkansas - deep in the heart of the Ozarks!  "It has always been fun to be a twin".  AND . . . Freddie couldn't resist presenting his virtual "painting" again of Katy in her "slicker" for the Acalanes 50th Year Reunion, 10 years ago.  We had fun!

7/28/2016 - These guys look like they're ready for another Acalanes Reunion!  This is how they looked 5 years ago just before our 55th Year event.  Left to right (you all know them) we have Dick Schuler, Steve Platt, Jay Bridges and Howard Jones who encountered this "little Jewel photo" while looking for something else.  It was taken at The Bridges home the day of the 55th. Steve said "Maybe we can get an updated version this year".  We'll see all four of you this October!!

6/22/2016 - Here's a good looking foursome at the 1955 Junior Prom.  From Right to Left we have, Dave Pitkin, Sandy Planz, Chick Pennock, and Gary Bedsworth, '57.  The theme was "Holiday in Venice" and the "worker bees" really produced some great effects, like the bridge in the background of the photo. We even had a gondola that was a lot of work. These 4 kids didn't get in the Aklan. Now they're "up in lights' right here . . . and in the nick of time . . . just before our Acalanes Class of 1956 60th Year Reunion.  Took 60 years, now a reality.  Congratulations!

6/16/2016 - Here's Linda Tycer Towers and her two grandchildren.  On the left is Olivia Towers, and on the right is Morgan Towers who just graduated from Fresno State.

Linda emphasized that the girls are on 4 inch platforms, so she's not so short.

Linda and her brother, Bert Tycer, '59, will be coming to the Class of '56 60th Year Reunion.  See ya in October!

6/12/2016 - So here we have Gordon Fowkes, '57, who as you can see has had quite a life.  I remember at Acalanes, Gordon played the tuba in several of the little bands.  We recorded a couple of tunes in 1954 and it's on the Relics Page.  On the left top, Gordon is 20, then on the right, a senior doing the Bop with Judy Parker, '57.  On the bottom at 30 he's a Captain, and on the bottom right at a conference in Buenos Aires.  He's now a retired Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army.

5/18/2016 - Here's Ed and Gulli Deemer a few years ago.  I think Ed said that "Sheriff Eddie" and Gulli actually met on the set of the F.B.I. show at the Warner Bros. studios.  Ed says, "See you at the 60th".

4/21/2016 - Here's a real vintage photo taken in 1954 by Sandy ("Sam") Planz Arbogast at the North Coast Swimming Meet in Santa Clara.  From left to right we have Val Geisler, '57, Stjerna Wallace, Roger Stocker, '57, Pat Monosmith Shoptaugh, and George Harrison, '57

3/29/2016 - Ron Hartsough and Neil Sammons have been together for 31 years and finally married at Queen Emma's Summer Palace in Honolulu Jan. 22, 2014.  Ron and I go way back, so see the 60th Reunion StoriesRon can't attend our 60th because of his planned visit to France where he once lived near the Eiffel Tower in a Paris Apartment in the 1980s.  Click Here for a Photo of our Favorite Paris Park, near Picasso Museum in 3eme ArrondRon is on the mend now after a severe ankle injury early last year.  In the photo on the left he is shown with his therapist.  Ron and Neil occasionally travel from Honolulu to California, spending time in the Sonoma Valley and even up to Arnold, close to Sandy and me.  Hope we see them come up the hill to Angels Camp soon.

3/21/2016 - John Hall and Marge are so busy these days living on Orr's Island, off the coast of Maine . . . wow what a beautiful area . . . look it up!  You can see from this collage what they've been up to.  John is a shipwright and sculptor.  He completed his 19 foot Ness Yawl after about a year and a half effort.  John just opened up a "carving studio" and one of his current projects is the "somewhat" abstract Heron you see here.  What a change from Colorado skiing, eh?  By the way, John sent in some "vintage" Glorietta and Orinda school photos, again from his closet!

3/4/2016 - Larry Tessler and Carol are at it again . . . The Pacific . . . Russia . . . Japan . . . Spain.  Hope we see you at the 60th . . .

9/4/2016 - Here's a few more from Larry Tessler and Carol sailing with a group of Cal alumni.

2/24/2016 - We're turning Harry Noller and his wife, Laura Lancaster, green as we speak (you know, the Who's Coming page).  Anyway, here is what Harry emailed . . . "the two 'car-guy pics' below are a homage to the Acalanes parking lot (I still remember Dale Marcellini sitting in his red Siata 208S revving the shrieking 2-liter V8, lascivious ear-to-ear grin). First pic is at the main stage at Concorso Italiano in Monterey with the Maserati (1966 Mistral 4-liter). And a view of the engine bay (DOHC, 3 twin-throat Webers). Never stop finding new ways to scare myself..."   But here's a story about Harry and me that you should check out.  Just click here!

2/24/2016 - Here's Jay Bridges and his kids, daughter Karen, son Steve and daughter Cathy on a little hike up to Machu Picchu in May 2015.  What a place, eh?

2/24/2016 - Ed Mjolsnes, '57, "Started back at it in '98 and still racing".  You're looking great, Ed.  Something must be in the water up there in Anchorage!

2/24/2016 - Marlowe Boyd and Vivian have been traveling again (and again . . . ).

Here are three shots from their Christmas Market Cruise down the Elbe river in December 2015, and one of Marlowe as a living sculpture at Super Bowl City.  We are off to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Sweden in April and just put a down payment on a trip to Cuba. Marlowe says they "Gotta keep movin"!  (not sure who's in the middle)

"By golly, only 60 years ago we were beginning rehearsals on a very special musical, Rio Rita I believe [yea & you played the part of 'Chick Bean']. Going back even further, last weekend I attended a fund raiser for Canyon Elementary School. There were 7 of us in the class of '52 ( not in attendance, just 7 total graduates). Takes me back."

2/11/2016 - Here's Pat Monosmith and Phil Shoptaugh do'in it up big at the Vienna Opera House.  The Richard Strauss opera, "Elektra",  must have been quite a show, eh?  Here they are again in 1956, and they're coming to the 60th!

1/27/2016 - Here's Steve Platt and Therese on their recent visit to New York City.  And, they "played" in Chicago too, visiting a son in each city.  Hope we get 'em to come to the 60th!
