6/29/2015 - Here's Diane Barrows Phelan,'56, with two of her grand daughters and two of their children who are Diane's great grandchildren, right?  Looks like a sunny day and Diane, you look great!  But where is that fire red hair that we were all used to?  Remember this?

6/11/15 - And we have Marlowe Boyd, '56 (of Canyon, CA) and his wife, Vivian.  Wow Marlowe, you've been all over the globe!  A long way from being "1st Passion Pilgrim Gospeleer" in Fininan's Rainbow.  I was 3rd, Ha!  Anyway classmates, here is Marlowe's note to me (Fred):

"My wife, Vivian, and I have traveled extensively over the past 4 years, 2 major trips a year, using the excuse that I need images for my nano business, Boyd Fine Art Photography (boydfinearts.net, boydfinearts.com, sites always under construction).

A few places we've visited: Paris, Vienna, Berlin, Brussels, Bruge, Warsaw, Krakow, Bratislava, Prague, Budapest, Basel, Athens, Santorini, Naxos, Mykanos, Olympia, Meteora, Istanbul, Ephesus, Nuremburg, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tallinn, Helsinki, Delft, Madrid, Granada, Seville, Lisbon, Tangier, Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto and of course, New York, Boston, Cape Cod, Raleigh, Asheville, Vail ( 2 weeks every July). My wife toured India in February (not for me) from Delhi to Jaipur. Our next major trip in the fall will be a river cruise down the Elbe from Berlin to Dresden. Our favorite destinations thusfar: anywhere in Japan, Istanbul, Vienna, and northern Greece.

So here are three of several pictures from some of these trips.  Looking forward to the September Reunion, we will actually be here at that time.  Regards . . . Marlowe"

6/10/15 - Remember when the Orinda Crossroads overpass was completed and there was a big celebration?  In December 2013, Gordon Fowkes, '57 sent the following picture and explained it this way:

"Yes, it was the celebration of the opening of the overpass I think in '54 and it was the time I "bopped" with the Tuba on the bar in the beer tent.  One of the brighter memories I enjoy every day.   This picture was taken by my parents and I think my sister, Joan Piper, may have a few, but she went to Miramonte.   I wish I had more photos, but having moved over three divorces and three continents of military deployment, a lot fell off the truck.   Joan Corelis also went to Miramonte and she has some memorabilia of the day, fog and all . . . Gordon"   (his "Dixie" Tuba recording)

In the picture Judy Parker, '57 is dancing with Gordon . . . It was at the Orinda Crossroads freeway overpass celebration where our band played up on the platform. And . . . who or what is everybody looking at?   Gordon and Judy are looking in that direction too.   I see Sandy Planz ?,'56 (now my Sandy), Sharon Hayden, '58, Larry Lucas, '57, Sheela Fox, '57, and is that Butch DeVillers,'56, or John Cadwell,'57?   Not sure about the others. Sandy denies being there . . . but . . . . those are her glasses for sure!

6/3/15 - Steve Platt,'56, is a real "energizer bunny" these days.  He's driving his second Tesla.  I (Fred) call it an electrified mobility device.

Steve says the Tesla is an outstanding car and the service is terrific! He is getting a new one primarily  as the electronics have improved considerably and include the components that support some very innovative new features that are down the road. The relatively hi trade in value, low financing costs and the $7500 tax credit on his federal taxes make it an easy decision.  Steve is pretty sure that Tesla will develop a battery that has third more range (say 400 miles), which will be a game changer. The batteries are easily changed and he would guess it will be available to existing owners ( for a price, of course).

Steve has another thing to share . . . He's engaged to a long time friend, Therese, who is an RN.  We hope to see both Steve and Therese at the Reunion this September.

8/15/15 - And here they are, just "lollygaging" down the Danube . . . "Therese and I are in Europe for a month. These pictures were taken in Prague and on the Danube" - Steve.  It looks like the Viking River Cruise . . . Maybe!

6/2/15 - To start this page off . . . Here's a vintage photo of the Class of '58 Rally Committee of 30 kids.  Among the many are Sharon Hayden,'58, DeVillers, Judy Colvin,'58, Axtman and Mr. Winchester.
