Ancient Acalanes Photos

Somehow, we got Pat to cough-up the "goods" and give us what we want . . . pictures, that is . . . well more than that it is really "Back to the (Acalanes) Future" when you view these . . . and after you get up from the floor laughing!!  But it's our past and what we were doing, both our Class of '56 and the Class of '57.   So this year (2011) we're going to celebrate our graduation which will be 55 years ago.  I hope this will help that and inspire others to contribute stuff that has been stored in your attics, basements and closets.  So here we go again . . . whoooopeeeee . . . .  All in the photos are not identified, so send an email if you can help.
 
Well look who's here . . . it's Dick Cory, Anthony Almond, and Ron Fitzgerald.  Well in the front row it's Pat Bacon Brothen enjoying the hell out of something . . . who knows what? . . . . . hahaha  This looks like the Orinda gang at their 8th grade graduation party.  Pat, you were always sweet and  never changed!
 

This has to be a high school picture of the Orinda girls.  Okay here's a try at the identities . . . starting from the left we have:  Suzanne Dean, Liz Rogers, Jackie Frazer, Carol Brabant, Cheryl Singer,  the other two Pat doesn't remember, but the last one is MaryAnn Drysdale.

   
This is probably the Orinda girls' 8th grade graduation party (a guess).  Pat doesn't remember who the one on the left is, but moving to the right we have:  Judy Miner, Jean Reid and Georgianne Watkins.  Looks like they are bored . . . so where the heck are the boys, anyway???
 
I don't know exactly what this affair is but the cast of characters looks very familiar, eh?  So we have two rows of couples.  Starting from the top left we have:  Pat Macauley and Sharon Pierce, Ed Maloney, '57, and Kyla Houston, '57, Gary Williamson and Joan Whalen, Pete Villa and Sue Penella, ??? and Georgiane Watkins, ??? and Ann Hightower, '57, ??? and Bill Link, and Greg Husar and Kathy Young, '57.  The first row starting on the left is Gary Gorman and Norma Waddel, Betty Demolous, '57 and Don Danska, Susan Wasson, '57, and Jerry Halstenrud, Marlene Cotella and Rich Markstein, '57, ??? and Ron Nelson, '57, Karen Hamm, '59, and Charlie Stockwell.
   
Here's Sharon Hayden, '58 and Butch DeVillers.  Must be at a major dance I suppose at Acalanes.  And then there's Judy Miner and Jay Bridges, probably at the same event.
   
  This must be the Senior Ball in 1956.  From left to right we have Bob Albright and Joan Evans, '57, Ed Klass and Liz Rogers, and Carole Holabird and Don Babcock
 
  More Senior Ball I guess . . . and I can only come up with the girls' names.  Of course we have Janice Guldenzopf and Judy Teuscher, '57.  The boys . . . well I don't know so maybe some one will help.
   
Shifting gears just a little bit, here's Pat's girl scout troup.  This must be about 7th grade.  Okay starting with the top row we have:  Jean Reid, Pat Bacon, Nancy St.Clair wondering what's so funny Pat?  And Pat's just saying "cheese", then it's Marjorie Fish, and Heather Ambler (died at 12).  Then the bottom row has:  Joanne Ross, Lynn (?), and Sylvia Coffey.
 
Here's Mike Barrett running like a "scared rabbit".  I wonder if this is the Mt. Diablo game which we won!!

   
Here we have the swimmers!  Boy do they look sleek, right girls?  Left to right it's:  Val Geissler, '57, Ogden "Corky" Kiesel, (a freshman on the "A" team) '59, Tim Freeman, '57, and Ed Klass
