Land Location (Rectangular Survey System) |
The "Rectangular Survey System" includes numbered and locally named "Principal Meridians (north/south) and Base Lines (east/west)". They were established to govern the United States Public Land Surveys and are displayed on various State maps and topographic maps published by the United States Geological Survey. Coordinates of their intersections are listed below. One can locate a parcel of land if its "Range" and "Township" designation is known (See the Rectangular Survey System page).
